Pet Grooming Salon grooming assistant/Bather 

compensation: Based on experience

Busy pet grooming shop in downtown Chattanooga is seeking a full-time employee to serve as a grooming assistant/bather. Applicant must be friendly, dependable and hard working. 

Applicant must be able to work from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm five days a week, Tuesday through Saturday (8:00 am to 5:00 pm). 

Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Job requires that you be dependable and on time! 

Must be able to pass a drug test. 

Duties include, but not limited to:
- Checking customers in/out
- Making daily reminder calls
- Making daily courtesy calls
- Assisting bather and groomer as needed
- Help maintain clean, safe work environment
- Must be flexible to work on Saturdays

  • Is a high school graduate or the equivalent.
  • Enjoys working with animals and people.
  • Works well with other pack members and management to accomplish duties. 
  • Is team oriented and flexible.
  • Has some previous customer service experience.
  • Is punctual and adheres to designated work schedules.
  • Has the ability to lift a box or bag up to 50 lbs. and can stand for an entire shift.

Nooga Paws is excited to hire a new member to join our pack at our locally owned and operated natural pet market. Nooga Paws is a new addition to the 2 North Shore shopping development located in Chattanooga, TN. Nooga Paws is seeking outgoing and approachable personalities who enjoy working with people and pets to fulfill our part-time sales associate positions. 2 North Shore is a non-smoking and pet friendly complex. Our ideal candidate - 

  • Is a high school graduate or the equivalent.
  • Enjoys working with animals and people.
  • Works well with other pack members and management to accomplish duties. 
  • Is team oriented and flexible.
  • Has some previous customer service experience.
  • Is punctual and adheres to designated work schedules.

In addition, Nooga Paws sells other pet essentials - collars, leashes, apparel, beds, grooming products, supplements, etc. A unique aspect of Nooga Paws is our two self-service wash stations. These do-it-yourself wash stations encourages pet parents to wash their pets without the hassle of washing their pets at home.  

Our goals at Nooga Paws are (1) to be a leader in pet nutrition, (2) to continually learn about the latest all natural food and treats available for dogs and cats, (3) to offer superior customer service with a loyal customer base, (4) to provide a unique bonding experience for our pet customers and pet parents while using our self-wash stations, and (5) to educate our pet parents about our food, treats, and pet essential products and the overall importance and impact on pet health and quality of life.

At-Will Employment

Employment with Nooga Paws, LLC shall be considered to be on an employment at-will basis. That means that employment is for no definite period of time and that either you or the Company may terminate the employment relationship at any time with or without cause without incurring any liability to the other party. This employment at-will policy may only be changed by written agreement signed by you and one of the owners of the Company. 

 

Alcohol and Drug-Free Workplace Policy

Substance abuse has an adverse impact on an employee’s work, personal, and family lives, as well as on the ability of Nooga Paws, LLC to fulfill its mission to provide the highest quality services to its customers. It can cause poor performance and decreased productivity, and it can create safety hazards. Consequently, Nooga Paws, LLC is committed to establishing and maintaining an alcohol and drug-free workplace. Help us achieve this commitment.

  • Illegal Drugs - The use, distribution, sale, offering for sale, possession, purchase, manufacture, or trading of illegal drugs is strictly prohibited. An employee caught violating this rule shall be subject to immediate discharge. This rule prohibits all illegal drug activity while on company time or off-duty. A positive drug test performed in accordance with the Company's drug and alcohol testing program shall be deemed conclusive evidence of the use of drugs.  
  • Alcohol - Employees are not permitted to report to work or work while under the influence of alcohol. Employees may not consume alcohol while on the Company's premises or that of the 2 North Shore complex. An employee with a blood alcohol content of .04 BAC or greater shall be conclusively deemed to be under the influence. 
  • Prescription and Over-the-Counter Drugs - Employees are prohibited from the misuse of abuse of prescription and over-the-counter (OTC) drugs. Employees who are using such medications for an existing medical condition are obligated to inform the Company of the use of any such medications to the extent that the use thereof may alter or hinder job performance or alter an employee’s mental or physical faculties or both.

Employees violating this policy are subject to disciplinary action up to and including termination. 

As a condition of employment with Nooga Paws, LLC, you may be asked to consent to drug/alcohol screening under any of the following circumstances:

  1. As a condition of hire
  2. On a random basis
  3. For probable cause
  4. For all job related injuries
